Broker–carrier agreement
This page states the terms carriers sign in the onboarding packet, in plain language. The signed packet controls if wording ever differs. JFL Logistics, LLC ("JFL") is a licensed property broker, MC 1421642, USDOT 3877674, 2522 Edward Babe Gomez Ave, Omaha, NE 68107.
Who does what
JFL arranges freight as a broker. You, the carrier, haul it as a motor carrier with your own active authority. This is not an employment relationship and no load is a lease of your equipment to us.
We don't re-broker
JFL tenders loads only to carriers we have verified, and we never pass a load to another broker. You agree to the same in the other direction: a load tendered to you is hauled by you, under your authority, with your drivers and your equipment. Double-brokering a JFL load ends the relationship and voids payment protection on that load.
The rate con is the rate
Every load moves under a written rate confirmation issued before pickup. The number on the rate confirmation is the number on the invoice. We do not renegotiate after delivery, and no deduction appears that you did not agree to in writing. If we offer a changed rate, it is a new rate confirmation you can accept or decline before the truck moves.
Verification and insurance
Before the first tender we verify your authority and insurance against FMCSA, call the phone number on your FMCSA record, and collect a W-9 and a certificate of insurance — requested from your agent where you allow it. You keep liability and cargo coverage current and tell us before it lapses. If your COI expires, loads stay visible but we cannot tender until a current certificate is on file.
Safety and compliance
You run under your own safety program and your own FMCSA compliance: hours of service, driver qualification, drug and alcohol testing, vehicle maintenance. Nothing in a rate confirmation requires breaking a safety rule. If a load cannot run legally within the stated window, call dispatch — the answer is a conversation, not a violation.
Cargo
You are responsible for the freight from pickup to signed delivery. Seal integrity, temperature settings, securement and count are yours while the load is in your possession. Claims follow the rate confirmation and applicable law (49 U.S.C. § 14706), with mitigation and documentation duties on both sides.
Payment
Payment terms, quick pay, detention, TONU, layover and lumper handling are stated in the payment terms and the detention & accessorial policy, which are part of this agreement.
Identity and payment security
We will never change your payment details because of an email. Any change is confirmed by phone to your number on file at FMCSA. If anyone emails asking to redirect your money — even from an address that looks like ours — call (402) 431-9410 before acting.
Term
Either side can end the agreement with written notice. Ending it does not change payment owed for loads already delivered and documented.
